As you may (or not) have noticed if you’ve looked at
some of the color types posted here, most people fall
on the warmer side of the scale. In my experience,
cooler types are less common, which means the
pigment that generates warmth (yellow undertones)
in the skin, hair, and eye must be dominant.
Here we have Thina, who is an example of one
such cool type; I have placed her in both cool
winter and cool summer colors. Which do you
like best? Go ahead and post your opinion. . .I’d
like to see what you think.

May 1st, 2008 at 6:37 pm Cool summer….it brightens her and brings out her eyes and skin tone!
May 1st, 2008 at 10:37 pm I think the summer colors are kinder to her skin.
May 3rd, 2008 at 10:20 am I also think cool summer as it doesn’t appear too dark or overwhelm her.
May 4th, 2008 at 2:05 pm As I am the photograph and the person wanted Thina to go up here I must say that she has more vivid colors than show up on a photo with her hungover ;) She looks absolutely stunning in black in person. I know of few who looks so good in black actually. But there is something strange with her colors not coming through through a camera lens. They tend to fade on camera for some reason. When in right foundation and blusher her skin looks like almost see through and she shows a lot of contrast. Maybe if she didn’t dye her hair she would really be a summer.
May 5th, 2008 at 1:39 pm I think cool summer is the correct palette for Thina. Cool summers can wear black better than any of the other summer palettes. And yes, photos don’t always reflect totally accurately the intensity of the individual. . .but there is enough evidence there to point to the correct palette. I’ll post a more difficult color type next time, as you readers did so well with this example.
May 5th, 2008 at 4:09 pm I think Summer is better.
May 6th, 2008 at 5:28 am Yes, I am inclined to say summer!
